Me, too. I got some bad advice from Leffot that Grant sizes and Barrie sizes are the same. They aren't. That was an expensive lesson.

Other than some who wear the same size in both, what you guys are saying makes sense and could reinforce what Robert at Alden-SF told me (that Grant is basically a Barrie with a sleeker toe).  I.e., the sleeker toe of the Grant necessitates going up a half size from the Barrie.  My question to you guys is do you feel the lasts are the same from about the ball of your foot to the heel?

Sunlight photos with AE in the middle.  Don't have my Chukkas at the office today.  The coloring is slightly different, but so do batches of cordovan.  I say they are darn close to cigar.

But just looking at two Color 8 (dark eggplanty) combos in a row makes me feel hot.  Let's see some Summer duds!

nephew,
alden's can be worn all year long. they are your summer shoes

I think that they look reasonably close. I may get the belt. I assume that those are Park Avenues in their Brown Shell? I like them, but I really like the natural siding on the Alden Straight Tips alot.

I am also thinking of trying to get an AE Walnut Shell Belt. I think that it may be a reasonable match (not perfect) for Ravello. I don't see myself finding a Ravello belt anytime soon, so that may be a good compromise. I do have a pair of AE Walnut Shell Strands that would obviously match.

Have a great Friday all!

Walnut shell no longer exists...They may have enough for a belt, not sure? But I know for a fact they dont have enough for a pair of shoes.

yes, from my experience they fit pretty similar for the ball to heel. I would personally really like to try my same length on the Barrie but out one width. I stratal the line between an 8D and 7.5E on the Barrie. An 8.5D fits me Ok on the Grant( 8D is waaay to tight) but I would be curious to try an 8E and see if that fits me better
