Brought me to the yard - haha.
Anyway, I finally snapped some pics of the Alden x LS Ravello Shortwings. Tom said there were only 18 pairs in this run and I had the only 8.5 (snagged it at the SF Anniv. event!). :D
Took some really crappy photos, but expect to see more of these bad boys when I work up the courage to break them in. Do you guys think I should get the heels tapped + sole topy'd (it's currently a double leather sole).

Finally - super sad day but I think I'll be moving forward with selling my Ultimate Jumpers to make room for some new additions...

My unicorn! I've missed her again!!!!!:censored:

That is the BEST shoe to ever come out of the alden factory. The pattern is much more balanced than the LWB. imo

Wow, I had planned to pick up a pair of Ravello LWBs but I think I may hold out for this short wing. Any chance this will happen again? This could be my last shoe purchase ever! What shoe could follow this one? very jealous... congrats and enjoy!

With the barrie last what would be the difference between a 8.0 D and a 7.5 E?

Thanks,

MB

The 8D would be longer, but, as I understand it, the width would be approximately the same.

the reason I ask is that I tried an 8 D but the instep was fairly tight wear the laces end. The 8.5 D are too big and the 8.0E are too big. I tried talking to the sales man but I found him very condescending and unhelpful.

Width would be a bit wider in E.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on some ravello chukkas - I wonder if they overlap too much with whiskey...

I think they are very different especially as they age. I will be happy to post a photo of well worn whiskey chukkas vs. brand new Ravello chukkas if you like.
