the natural cxl looks like whisky to me

+1

my nat cxl looks absolutely nothing like that. mine is slowly getting a darker patina, definitely not a light whiskey hue.

I wore my whiskey chukkas again last Sautrday after applying some saphir - got tons of compliments. Whiskey is definitely an attention getter in sunny weather

I also picked up a tin of tan paste wax from Alden Madison - apparently Alden just started making this wax for whiskey (before, they recommended Kiwi tan, which looked a bit too yellow for most people'es tastes). I will apply a coat to the chukkas and post pictures...

Hey Everyone,

I'm trying to figure out what size I should go with on the natty CXL LWB Epaulet offers. I'm admittedly very new to the world of decent shoes :embar:. The only dress shoe I have for comparison is a pair of AE Park Ave in 8.5. If I force my foot all the way to the front of the shoe I can just squeeze an index finger between my heel and the back of the shoe. When I walk around I feel like my 4th & 5th toes can rub just a bit. The only other pair of common shoes I have are a pair of Clarks DBs in which I'm also an 8.5, the size 8 in those were absolutely foot crushingly too short. Any suggestion on what size I should go with on the Aldens?

Thanks

Really, "tons" of compliments? I mean other than the occasional sales associate trying to make small talk in a store, what kind of people are you around that will stop you and comment on your shoes?

Just seems really odd to me that anyone would do this, other than sales associates in stores, friends, or really close family

Especially in NY where you could have two heads and not receive a second glance

edit: this is my 4000th post btw, I think I need some sort of plaque or gold star

Might need half size smaller and a size wider.

You don't get points for "Work it GURL" WAYWT shots in MC Casual... ;)
