I've had no response, just wondering if any other owners of this shoe from LS had the same missed hole punch on both shoes?

I was told from LS that the whole batch came that way and they still sold it at regular price and not as irregular. They tried to remove it themselves, but couldn't and recommended to me to just fill it in with a felt marker.

Any thoughts on this? Should I keep it or return it back to LS? Is this normal practice to sell a $475 shoe with this missed hole punch? This is my fourth pair of Alden in the past 6 weeks and am disappointed that a shoe of this level has this issue.

On one hand, i completely agree.
On the other, its fvcking absurd that such a prominent F up is on a pair of $500 shoes is dismissed as perfectly acceptable and not irregular.

I actually carried them outside as to not scuff the soles. Still thinking about sending them back but will probably end up keeping them.


I bought these pants/socks/shoes with the idea of wearing them together, but now that they've arrived I think it would look better with my #8's

Yeah, I gotta say usually the things that are complained about are completely invisible and I'm more on the side of it being way worse QC than they should have but not objectively a big deal. That missed hole is pretty obvious to the naked eye even from several feet away, though, and if it was on the whole batch I can't even fathom how it happened. I'd probably try to get in touch with Alden, as it's definitely more than the usual scuff or uneven coloring. If not, though, I'd probably color it in or otherwise deal with it.

I strongly endorse those pants btw. Just got home and was looking to see if I could get a green pair, but unfortunately that color not offered. Great fit, true to size (hope they don't shrink) and incredibly soft and comfortable.

Edit: I wonder if I could buy a white pair and dye em green?

Just received plain toe calf boots. So comfortable right out of the box. Got lucky with Winn Perry. Will post photos when I figure out how.
