Thank you very much MrDV. Those are reassuring words because it still niggles me.

Here's the current brood:

2 NST: Burnished Brown, and Chocolate Suede

3 LHS: Whiskey, Snuff Suede, and a #8 I'm trying to sell.

2 Boots: Ravello Brixton, and a Snuff Suede Brixton on order from J. Gilbert.

What's next, I've thought of a Shell PTB, a Shell NST,  or a Shell LWB. Thoughts?

In my humble opinion there are 3 ways to build a wardrobe:

1. Go for function and build a wardrode around that ie. boots for winter, lace ups for weekdays and the loafer for weekend

2. Go for variety and build a wardrobe where each shoe is as different from the other as is possible. Initially one may focus on different patterns, then different lasts and finally different leathers

3. Go for a signature style and build a wardrobe around one particular look ie. just wingtips, just PTBs, just loafers.

Just my 2 cents on an approach to building a shoe wardrobe.

Will Alden refuse to resole a shoe if it has been previously resoled by a local shoe repair? I have a pair due for a restoration, and I'd prefer sending it to Alden directly this time around. Aside from needing a new sole, the shoe is in great shape so I wouldn't anticipate a problem otherwise. Thanks for the help!

The odd thing is that when I came across the snuff version of the barrie/crepe chukka, j crew only had one size available via the website and it was a 12.5 or 13.5. Note that I've never looked for or seen a 12 or 13 before or since. I just happened across it when looking for that shoe as it was the only size listed.
