I go TTS in Florsheim, but I do not own any of their cordovan models.

Thank you.

Just came back from a trip to Paris and the South of France (The Gers). I took my LeatherSoul Navy and Tan Saddles (keeping the dog poo off of them while in Paris was no small feat - they don't talk about THAT in the travel guides) and their Vintage Indy boots (which got very muddy stomping around Carcassonne, St Puy, etc etc etc!). I have to brush the dried earth from the nubuck... but now they have been to "exotic" locales like my old 405s, which I'd always take to Japan. There is something reassuring about these boots and international travel. Except the removal/relacing at the security gates - always rushed, but a small price to pay.

I then came home to my preorder of their restock of the Navy Suede Shortwings that I missed out on last year. They look great indoors and out. A banner month!

You're right, barely noticeable. I've been thinking about those soles on a dress boot for winter.

^ blue suede short wings look great in the wild. They look better than LS's pix.

I have two color 8 Florsheim imperial shell models from the1970's - LWB and PTB - and one black shell model from 1981 - PTB. I wear them all TTS. I like each of them as well as my Aldens. They fit like a glove and are of wonderful quality. American made.

Wore my black ones tonight .....

I get what look the guy is going for, it's just not for me. The well cared for pair, IMO, would look better than the other pair, no matter what attire they are paired with. Some will disagree. I'm ok with that.

Was there 3 weekends ago. I didn't find anything worthwhile in the way of shoes, but I was mostly there for the sunshine and saltwater. Took a great drive down to key largo for the day - highly recommend that if you are looking to do some snorkeling.

I just picked up a similar pair of five-nail v-cleat plain toe bluchers and went with my Barrie size. They were a little more snug at first but broke in nicely.

I should also note that FL is not the first place I look for alden shops. Good luck!

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

My camera doesn't do these shoes justice.  I assumed I would use these exclusively for casual to business casual, but these SWB's look outstanding; they could easily be dressed up with a suit.  There are those though, who believe bluchers should not be paired with suits.  I'm not one of them.

The commando sole is subtle enough for a dressy boot, imo.
