The eyelet misalignment will only be bothersome to you for the first couple of wears. I noticed a pair of my boots had a similar problem.
1. Don't send it to alden.
2. No one else has ever noticed the flaw.
3. I haven't even thought of it since I first noticed it months ago.

I have this issue one 2 pairs too it bugs me still. But nothing you can do about it. Fwiw alden of Carmel considers this a defect and sells seconds with just this flaw

I'd think long and hard before sending it to Alden for "repair". Some of the jobs they've done in the past have made the shoe look worse.imo.

I have a pair or two that look like that too.

So, maybe there's nothing I can do but at least I know I'm not the only one irritated by this. Thanks. Truth is, this really should be considered a defect but I don't want to start that.
