thanks

That is correct...  definitely TTS...  As you probably already know the Aberdeen runs a bit narrow... and I am between a medium and narrow fit (closer to medium) so they fit nice and snug, but comfortable...

Edit: CelceoAdamator beat me too it, I stand by giving Alden DC a call....
In addition to Alden NY, Alden DC has either this same shoe, or a very similar shoe in black shell and #8 shell. I would give them a call. Either Joe, or Kathy will be happy to help you out.

Its the same shoe...  8815 and 8818 (Black and No. 8 shells)

I made a similar comment to my wife. I told her that no matter what DO NOT give my shoes away if something happens to me. I told her to sell them and pay for our children's college. She laughed, not even realizing the truthfulness of what I had said.

Snuff suede chukkas (stock model 1493) on their maiden voyage today

These Leydons are super comfy, like slippers. Not too blobby, not too sleek. Plenty of room after following Voltaire from Citishoes's solid advice to go to an E width.

I'm on a bit of a snuff suede rampage lately. Took advantage yesterday of the NeedSupply 10% code for May ( SFMAY10 ) and ordered the snuff suede UPLs (their customer service was lovely, btw).

Accordingly, I'm hoping to just get a pulse on what you folks are treating your suede with. I have the Meltonian waterproofing spray I used to treat my snuff suede JCrew LWBs, but feel inclined to hold off in the event someone has a strong recommendation about the recently re-release Saphir suede spray or the AE waterproofer (or any other solid suggestions). Are any of you guys doing no suede treatment whatsoever? If so, how come?

just my personal opinion here......I would never expect my kids to inherit my shoes for the purpose of re-wearing them. Putting on someone else's shoes that have been worn for 5-10-20-or even 30+ years gives me the creeps. I love my dad but if he handed me an old pair of aldens (even in ravello, #4, mahogany, etc) I'd have to say thanks but no thanks. For me it's like borrowing someones tooth brush or underwear. To each his own but when I pass if my aldens are still around I hope someone sells them off for a little pocket money otherwise throw them in the pine box with me to be part of my (green) funeral. musicboohoo[1].gif

For those that know anything about the quality of Florsheim shell shoes of a by-gone era, these are a bargain. If Alden's Barrie doesn't suit your fancy, and these are your size, buy them. nod[1].gif
