Uncle Mac, so great to see you back on the forum. It's like Michael Jordan coming back from retirement "He's Back!"

Cigar Indy is next on my want list. Yours are spectacular.

And Rancourt, Carmina, Vass, and DaLuca (watch straps and wallets), all seem to have ready enough access to Horween shell to meet their demand. These are just what I'm familiar with. As I mentioned, their overall volume is likely much lower than Aldens, and my point may go out the window when these makers announce they are experiencing a shortage, but I'll stand pat for now. If I turn out to be wrong, you can all throw it in my face while I surround myself with the beautiful shell cordovan I'm hording...

Vass said their rare colors are about 1 year wait right now. I interpret that to mean new customers wait one year for whiskey, cigar, ravello ish colors. Burgundy, black seems to be business as usual though

(Many say that Barrie LWB are roomy compared to Barrie boots.  I can't speak from personal experience, but I've seen this discussed enough times in this thread to think that you should be fine)

Sick PTB. Are those #8? Where did you get them? Also, good pairing with the jeans - what jeans are those?

Nice makeups there.  Sadly, I'm having problems navigating the site since I can't read or speak Korean. :(

Mac, as usual really nice looking pair.  I've seen you post pictures of NST in all different lasts - Barrie, Aberdeen, Plaza...  If I may ask, which style do you think is the most contemporary and would look the best with jeans.  I'm really wanting to get an NST but can't buy all the varieties.  I usually wear more casual, thus the question.  Thanks.

Google translate or I think there is an english button top right of page. Their stock is really nice but no larger sizes yet

There are a few things to take into consideration.  Shoe vs boot.  Closed vs Open lacing (Balmoral vs Blucher).  Shoe material (suede vs calf vs cordovan lined or unlined).  I've found all of these details to affect the fit to some degree.

Having said that, I have three pairs of Truebalance boots, one pair of Barrie boots and one pair of Barrie PTBs.  I can tell you that my Truebalance boots are significantly larger than either the Barrie boot or the Barrie PTB.  The Barrie boot and the Barrie PTB have a similar fit.

Well I have a cap toe boot on the Barrie last preordered in a 10.5 and I worry it will fit me a tad larger like the LWB in the same size. Does the boot fit differently from a shoe much? Granted I do wear thinner dress socks with the shoe as opposed to thicker socks with the boot, but I still figured the difference wouldn't be that drastic.

Should I order a size 10 in the cap toe boot, too, and return the one that doesn't fit or forgo it and perhaps accept the fact that Barrie last simply doesn't fit my feet well. On a side note, I want a wing tip boot on the grant last from shoemart - should I go 10.5 here?

I suppose I could go to sherman brothers (closest alden supplier near me) but they really don't stock too many boots in store so I fear I won't be able to make an accurate size estimate by visiting one of their stores.

Thanks!

8.0 in Barrie.  All my barries fit identical.  (including boots).

After getting the 8 in the barrie, I sort of realized I could probably have been good with a 8.0 in Trubalance, but didn't really notice the extra room b/c it's a boot and you tie it around your ankle, so I'm not swimming in it.  It's super comfy too, so didn't really question it.  However, 8.5 in barrie was definitely too big.

Thanks! Mine are actually from Leffot; I prefer the Barrie on my LWBs. I think normal wear and tear will be the key. Enjoy yours!

thanks for the kind words, yea they are ptb in #8 990. i bought them used off another forum member. i think #8 looks good when it gets worn a bit then it starts changing different colors. i did the mac method on this pair after i got them over and over again for about 2hrs though except i added some of my own spit lol.

that would explain the shine also the sun was nice and bright smile.gif. the denim are a.p.c new standards.

Pffft. The Indy boot is oos in my size @ both Leffot & TSM. Seems odd that need supply is selling the Indy boot less than everyone else. You guys have good luck ordering from need supply?
i have never ordered aldens from needsupply but i've ordered other items they have always been excellent. i also think their 10% off code works on aldens.
