What I do have, however, is another question. I have yet to find a satisfactory pair of travel shoes and am hoping for some Alden recommendations. One of my main concerns is comfort as we walk a lot when we travel. I also think I'm looking for a man-made sole as I don't want to have to worry about traction or longevity in inclement weather, and I really only want to travel with one pair of shoes (unless it's a special occasion). Finally, I want something that looks good with both jeans or mildly-dressy clothing. Any thoughts or, better yet, photos/links? Thanks.

I like the flex welt, waterlock sole but if you are concerned about inclement weather, a leather sole may not work. I used to travel to LA about quarterly and since it never rains there, the suede chukka was my go-to travel shoe. Very lightweight, comfortable, plenty of give when feet swell during air travel and easy to don & doff for TSA/security. My tan 1494's have accompanied me on most of my warm weather business travel for several years now.

I recently picked up a pair of snuff suede chukkas on the crepe sole. I'm sure they'll work well for travel also.

i've never ordered shoes from them, but just recently ordered a backpack. fast confirmation, received it next day (im in the same state as them)

would definitely order from again (and might, as those navy dovers are catching my eye)

remember to grab the styleforum coupon code from their thread on here

Thanks for this and all the other helpful suggestions so far. Part of me has been leaning toward the Sloat pt boot at Unionmade, but I fear they may be a bit too casual.

You might consider publishing what you are working on periodically and allow those of us with larger feet to place an order before you submit it to Alden.  This is sort of how Leffot, JGilbert, and Moulded Shoe do it.  I would definitely have ordered a pair of those saddles -- beautiful!

El Argentino (aka "el longfooto"), I always look forward to your posts, especially the ones featuring your gunboats. You've go to send me info on what features of the Snapseed app you use to get such great pics. I think it would be great if we started posting pics of ourselves taking pictures of our shoes. Ya know, for archival purposes only, and to make people laugh of course. As always great looking LWB's.

I agree this is something that we should be doing.  I will see what orders we have coming up and try and post them for you guys.  Thank you for the heads up!  Unipair Guy

Hi all.... quick question about what belt would pair well with the Alden navy blue PTBs I just bought (identical to these).

Would tan leather work? Or what would you all recommend?

Mostly casual guy here -- wear good jeans and chinos most of the time.

Thanks!
