I have a black pair on order, may add a suede at some point as well. All 9.5E.

These are both 9.5E. The tankers on the right (Barrie) are a bit longer than the Indy boots on the left (Trubalance)

(these color on these boots look similar in this photo but they look very different outdoors in better lighting)

I retired long enough ago that Naples was still called the armpit of the Med and Humpty Dumpty was still alive and sat on the wall yet. No one would have dreamed of purchasing clothing there either. So my experience is dated however don't believe the concept is. My only concern with shell PTB is the rolls. Half of my shell boots and shoes, eight of them, are plain toes and for a reason. I have a pretty good idea of what sizes work for me in what brands and how they are going to look. Just a couple small rolls and where they belong IMO. You don't have to look hard to find examples of PTB's that have multiple large rolls and IMO do not belong with a dress uniform. If you are certain of how they will look down the road go for it. With a little work you will look better than anyone else around you. Then again if they don't work out for a military uniform once you retire and hit CivLand, and even before that, you can still wear them. Good luck and waiting to see pics!!

Same here. I really like the high vamp of the Epic and use them in most all my boots.

I don't have any chukkas, but this would be the first one I would hunt down.  Congrats on the rare find and wear in great health!

Good to chat with you again- my work for the Navy has me in front of the Admiral quite a bit and also in the public eye, so I have always kept a fantastic shine on my shoes.  The thing that attracts me to the shell is the way they seem to have a depth or 3d dimension to them- like looking into water.  I'll never get that with a stock shoe.  I've seen the rolls but I thought they were just on an older shoe.  I didn't know this was a common thing.  That may change my mind about shell.

I have 5 yrs until I hit 20 so I am thinking about a shoe that I can still use in the afterlife that will not look like I am wearing my Bates from back when I was in the Navy.  The shell PTB and AE Leeds are both nice enough that I think they would work in a normal business wardrobe.  Plus it's a great excuse to tell my wife.  "Hunny...I need them for work!!"

I'm from Pittsburgh so when I read Cold Iron it always makes me want an Iron City beer.

-edited for spellingAlso ,Naples is still a stinky armpit.

How are the unlined suede chukkas? Do they hold up well? I tried them on (they fit tts) and the are like slipper comfy but I'm wondering if they are worth full price.

I wear 9D in Alden's Barrie and TruB. I am TTS 9.5D.

I use either Alden's/BB's split-toe trees in Large or AE's/JAB's full-toe trees in Medium. They fill out my shoes and boots quite nicely and smooth out the creases.

I personally consider Alden's split-toe tree in Medium and AE's split-toe tree in Medium to be of insufficient size for my shoes and boots, even though my sizes fall within the range for mediums or each of these trees.

I inquired of this shoe previously. FWIW, it is only available in E widths thru Unipair.

Absolutely love the gunboat collection my friend!  I'm awfully tempted to pull the trigger on these Leffot color 8 LWB with antique edge.  Is it too redundant to have it and the standard 975??

Slightly off topic,
but I figure there have to be some My Morning Jacket fans in this thread ...
I think Jim James is wearing shell Indy's at 1:54 in this video
