I can tell you the Barrie Chukka fits identical to my Barrie boots if that helps?

Quick question for this Alden for BB

http://www.brooksbrothers.com/Cordovan-Leather-Wingtips/037H,default,pd.html?dwvar_037H_Color=BLCK&contentpos=15&cgid=

Is this still on the Plaza last or have they moved to the now Alden for BB snap last. If it's on snap last, how does it fit?

I'm not certain about the Last, however I went a 1/2 size down from my normal size when I purchased mine.

Your mileage may vary.

Seems like someone in Askanday said they have changed from Plaza to M-75 last... whatever that is

Why would anyone find shoes that have been referred to as "gunboats" for at least 50 years "clunky" ? I say 50 years because thats what my dad called his Florsheims. It could be longer.

You are correct.  The M-75 last is supposed to be very similar to the plaza in shape and size.  It should fit tts.

I was told they had a thin leather insole, which is what I got, and some which would better be classified as orthotics. I thought $40 was a bit stiff for two pair of insoles until I saw how perfectly they fit into my shoes. Even though the PTB's were my first Alden's, I was a little sanguine toward them because of their very generous proportions. Now with these insoles I can wear dress socks without having to tie the shoes so tight that its cutting off the blood flow to my feet. I can see wear Alden's history in corrective and special footwear comes from. If you thought Alden's were comfortable before these insoles take them to the next level. BTW my PTB's are looking kinda dull. I've got some Reno, #8 shell cordovan wax, and some brushes. Does anyone have their own special recipe for getting that high gloss Uncle Mac shine?
BeSpiffington, Where can I get these inserts please.

The thread consensus seems to be that ravello is the king of gunboats. They're certainly great in ravello, but I think my vote might be for cigar.
