Has anyone had experience treating their tan or snuff suede with the purpose of darkening them? If so, has it worked?

Thanks.

My modeest pickups over the weekend. Went out with the intention of buying just the Van's in the middle, ended up coming home with Natty CXL Longwings and #8 LHS. No idea how that happened. uhoh.gif

I'll accept the new moniker as long as your enthusiasm and good humor remains the same. Welcome "newbie!"

Yes. That said, the front of my foot is essentially flat - think Fred Flintstone.

Thanks to all.

Awhile ago, I got some excellent help from many members here at styleforum regarding how to buy Alden's at a pretty good price and what to look for in terms of lasts, the value of shell cordovan, etc.

All of this help was hugely helpful and completely changed how I buy proper dress shoes. And most important of all, it resulted in my having the best pair of shoes I have ever owned.

THANK YOU>

Guess what showed up today?:

Does have 6 eyelets. Very nice, unique.

By the way, it seems to fit similar to the LWB, Barrie.

^ mediahound, way to jump on an opportunity. Nice score! If I wasn't waiting on almost the same thing in a boot I would've joined you.

I'm really liking 'em so far I must say.

They have an interesting profile which is different than a standard 5 eyelet Alden.

For some reason it looks more...

...Than other barrie lasted shoes.  Maybe they just need to be creased, or perhaps its the six eyelets.

Congratulations none-the-less, and as always, wear in good health!

My socks are what make them look a bit like that.
