I have the same shoe in snuff suede arriving tomorrow

what is the consensus on how to treat suede prior to wearing?

This is good because your foot will sink in to the cork foot bed up to 1/4 of an inch and leave an imprint.  Should alleviate at least some of the snug fit.  Was it so snug that your feet were throbbing?

I don't think I'm in love with the crepe.  It looks nice with the snuff suede, but I wouldn't get it on a cordovan shoe.  When these wear out, I think might try having B. Nelson put a double leather sole on them.

I placed an order, but for some reason they keep saying my card is failing to authorize.

 

I have called them like 7 times this week, and can't help but wonder if its because they don't want to let the unlined LHS go for $448.  None of the customer service reps have given me any reason to believe that this is the case, but my bank said that they have no record of BB even trying to initiate a transaction, while BB says they have tried it on like 5 different occasions.

 

They ended up canceling my order, after the customer service rep said that wouldn't happen.  As a consequence I lost the 9D.  I made them resubmit a new order identical to the first and manually adjust the price.  I had to go with 9.5D this time, and will hope that a local store has a 9D in stock to exchange.  If not I'll just have to send them back.  They said the 9D is backordered indefinitely.  When I ordered them initially, they had a backorder ship date of 4/8.

 

Even weirder is that the order status on my BB account says that the first order has been shipped.  Neither of the cards that I gave them has been charged yet. 

i just called directly and the sales rep applied the 30% discount to a pair of #8 straight tip bluchers without batting an eye...got an order confirmation within 30 min, card billed, shipping confirmation in 2-3 business days.

was gonna get the lhs in 9d--had it in my cart the night before--but when i got around to checking out after work on the day the sale started, it was out of stock! hoping you get yours.

i will splurge for the faster shipping next time.

on a related note, any success with ordering j.crew alden shell with their ongoing 25% discount? none on this end...
