I recently got a pair of boots from a retailer and they were clearly seconds being sold as brand new. It was not the retailers fault, Alden packaged and sent them as 1st quality. I called the retailer and the explanation was, "that's just Alden. No two pairs are alike. Each pair had some imperfection or something that makes them unique."
I have no objection to your post.
Just thought I'd throw in a few words ...
A good relationship with a retailer solves alot of problems. In other words, I have had retailers work with me to solve an issue even when Alden wouldn't work with them to solve said issue. In my experience, even though Aldens these days are in high demand, retailers (or at least the ones I regularly patronize) still value loyalty.
