I've been watching for a couple weeks, but unable to find some shell wingtips or longwings in Ravello. I see Leffot and LS have had them in the past, but are long since sold out. I'm guessing because its winter time they're focusing on the boots, how likely is it somebody will get some come springtime?

If you're looking for a pair right now, it's likely you won't find any Ravello wingtips. If you're fine with longwings, have you checked Alden of Carmel, or called some of the other Alden retailers (Alden of Madison, Alden of DC, Sky Valet, etc.)? I know Adam at AoC has several pairs, it just depends on the size that you are looking for.

Warning: the AoC Ravello longwings are on crepe sole.
I've got a pair and like the look but they're not for everyone.

I got to say these limited Jcrew collaborations are quite nice...I am pretty impressed that they would do a two tone saddle with snuff suede and #8. Seems pretty adventurous for Jcrew. Well done. Maybe a ravello limited edition option is not that far-fetched.

i just got a pair of used aldens that say "8H30 025 11 977" on the inside. does any of that information say what last they were made on? if i had to guess based on the look/fit i would say Grant. they're brown calfskin longwings.

The 977 on the end should be the model number, from which you can determine the last, but I can't find any reference to that model at all.

Those saddles are nice and I love the pebble grain shortwings, I actually really really want those for spring/summer.

I emailed Alden about the missing perf on the longwings--see their response below. It looks like many of you may soon have collector's items on your hands (well at least in the Styleforum bizzaro world--I doubt anyone else on the planet would give a crap)....

We were unaware of the missing pin, however we have ordered new equipment for the long wing pattern - for other reasons - and trust this new equipment will have a full complement of pins.

with all the influx of new styles, i called the liquor store to see if any new styles (ravello cap toe boot) had arrived, but nothing doing yet on that front. grr.

It's too bad JCrew seems to use the Barrie last for all lace shoes.
