#8 captoe boots about two months in.  They got the method and some Reno two days ago.  Pardon the lighting in the wee hours of the morning.

I wish the weather here in MPLS would cooperate so I could get mine outside. Extended Mac Method break-in period. Some just call it winter.

Yep - no sense in having them if they can't be worn. I am wearing shell today (with overshoes, of course), and it is rather wet and snowy ....

Thanks for all the compliments, gents! I was surprised and happy to see that the reddish hue came out on the Ravello in sunlight!

They will lighten up over time, but color 8 from Alden - when new - can vary significantly from moderately dark to very dark (almost purple/black-ish). This will obviously have a bearing on how much they will lighten up with use and time.

I just wear my aldens regardless of weather. I have sold off all of my non-cordovan models so I just go for it regardless of what's going on outside. I do have several with commando sole and one with dainite sole which I wear if it's raining, snowing, etc. Overshoes are not for me.

 

cigar plain toe boot on this wet day in the mid-atlantic.
