I have a pair of 2 eyelet Chukka in navy suede, unlined...and they fit nicely. I hope this holds the same for the Ravello.
I think Shoemart got 2 pairs per size in. I also pre ordered an 8D.

I noticed that the 2 eyelet unlined suede chukkas fit me much better than the 2 eyelet chromexcel chukka.

But the spray contains silicone, I guess, which I try to avoid. Thus looking to some beeswax based protection. But that will obviously change the appearance of the suede. I know that it looks pretty good with roughout but not sure about the suede.

I would not use HDLP on suede myself. I have a post in the Obenauf's thread with 4 treated boots in it, one of them started life as nubuck. It now looks like the top grain chrome tanned boot next to it.

Which is fine by me, nubuck has no place in a hunting or hiking boot IMO. Although the CXL still has its nap I don't think suede would over time. For suede I use Bickmore Gard More. It does not darken the suede at all and contains no silicone if that is what your after. It works very well.

Just wanted to come out of lurking with my first post here and say Hi and thanks to all of you for posting your pics on this forum. I have wanted a pair of Indy boots for awhile now and bought my first pair last week from Shoemart ( 403 Chromexel Indy) ... as a post divorce present to myself.... Loose a wife, get a boot... after finally receiving the boot I believe it to be a fair trade. Exceeded my expectations in every way and just ordered the natural chromexel ones to rotate with. ( I see the start of a problem developing)... Anyway just wanted to say thanks as I probably wouldn't have made the jump without seeing the enthusiasm you all bring to this thread..it seems to be catching.

Can anyone help out a forumite with some info for an Alden fan in the UK? Has anyone ordered a pair of Alden's from Leffot and had them sent by them to the UK? I know it says they will not ship internationally but am desperate to get myself a pair of the
Indy tan suede with red micro soles release.

Cheers

Thanks for your reply and tip of the Bickmore Gard. I wasn't aware of it.

I mainly got that idea since the roughout service boots (Boondockers) worn in the war were nearly always dubbed and some members have done so with good results.

But I couldn't remember anyone doing it with the Alden 'service boots'.

Why haven't you worn those #4s yet?

Alden for BB #8 PTB. I love the fit of this last, definitely better than the barrie (for me).

These just showed up on eBay:

Alden x Leffot day tripper boots shell cordovan ravello size 10.5 D / 10 1/2 D
Buy It Now US $699.00

The listing originally said 10D (my size), but I was sure to check out the photos first and noticed the last photo clearly showed 10 1/2 D as the size.  I let the seller know.

Yea or you can buy them in the SF classifieds for cheaper :) I noticed the same thing about 10 vs. 10.5

If the reverse welt was natural, it'd be a different story, though, as de-staining/sanding the reverse welt would be insanely tedious and not worth it imo.

I just did the same thing with a pair of tricker's stow boots in antique marron that was the same color as the boots.
Acetone, sanding, dark cream then polish and buff.
Ended up on the darker side of natural. Not enough to stand out, but a little more contrast.
