for some reason, shell doesn't seem to shine that well right out of the box. i had a hell of a time getting my NSTs to shine up right after i got them, but now the toe caps are nice and shiny. i feel i have always gotten a better shine after a few wearings, or even just keeping the shoes out of the box. perhaps there's something about increased exposure to circulating air that changes something in the finish...

Very nice. Which ones are those?

Is it silly of me to order the Leffot Naval boot (black perf toe) when I have both the #8 and Cigar Grant Captoes from Alden of DC? Something about a simple dress boot does it for me and I can get away with them at work on the Friday.

You can never have too many captoe boots!

Sounds like trees are the consensus in Indy's too. I have two pairs, on Natty CXL and the other Color 8 Shell. Looks like i'll be ordering two more pairs of trees.

Thanks for the input.  Like I said, the wind was blowing which I think makes them look longer but they are probably still a tad long.  I'll take another pic some time soon.

I just came home to some new Ravello Chukkas. I agree with Bespoken PA that they are darker then other Ravello I have seen, I would almost peg them closer to Whiskey. I was not expecting a dark trim but I think it is a nice contrast.

I am assuming this can buff out but I would love some advice

Should I be concerned with the creasing so close to the base of the lasing?  I feel like they fit well, but I've never seen any of my shells crease in this spot.

RTP, Against my better judgment smile.gif , I am going to say thanks for posting these. I purchased a pair today from Alden of DC. (Kathy was, as always, a pleasure and quite helpful.)

I would ask, at least for the next few weeks. that denziens of this thread post pictures of Barries lasted shoes so that I cannot be tempted to purchase anything new.

Cheers!

Here is a bit closer up view of the area I am concerned about

How is the tremont last? How is the fit compared to the Barrie? I can use the last chart to arrive at my size but I'm most interested in the differences in toe box. Sometimes I feel like my toes get lost in the barrie. I wish more offerings were available in the plaza in terms of specialty cordovan.

The tremont is tigher in the toe box than the barrie, so you may be able tot take the same size in barrie and tremont. I need all the toe room in the barrie, so I have to size up in tremont.
