There is a great Alden last chart that can be found with a basic google search. It lists all the lasts and their corresponding fits I believe the website that published it is called red clay. I'm positive someone around here has a link?

Very nice, I was amazed at the fit considering it's only a two eyelet chukka. Ravello tends to have some variance with it, mine are more brown and lack the redness I've seem in other pictures. I started the break in method about five minutes after I opened the box. Then I received an email regarding a couple of other specialty cordovans. I couldn't find anything for six months now I find four pairs in a month and a half. The shoe mart version is a Barrie last with leather soul?

Results will vary. Personally I add a 1/2 size from Barrie to arrive at my proper Grant fit. I learned this the hard way when I ordered the Day Tripper which is on the Grant in the same size as my Barrie. End result is an extended wait for the next batch of Day Trippers to show up at Leffot...

Most go down 1/2 size from normal. I can actually go a full size down from my normal tennis shoe size. I would say it depends, definitely go smaller than your regular tennis shoe size.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I suspect it is the color variation problem during the dyeing process.

I have heard uncle mac said if the spot really bothers you, you should contact Alden directly, tell them / email them with picture, and return the shoes to Alden for re-dyeing.

I am not sure it can 100% fix the problem, but you should try.

#8 LWB Maiden Voyage

I got them from Hunt Club Clothiers in Cincinnatti on sale, from pre-increase prices (I bought them literally the day before the price increase).  Not saying exactly what deal I got but they took good care of me.

These shoes are a dream to wear.  I never want to take them off my feet.

Wind was blowing so I think it made the trousers drape funny.  Let me know what you think.

I did not know however I'm not surprised to find that out. It has been an invaluable resource for me. I like the top view side by side comparison it really illustrates the differences in lasts very well.

Yes, Shoe Mart is also leather sole on the Barrie. However, mine ended up coming from Alden NYC and I cancelled my Shoe Mart order. I am pretty sure mine will look identical to yours but will post pictures tomorrow when I get home.

BTW, which other Alden exotics are you considering?

Should I order LWB in 8.5? The 8.5 Jcrew perf cap toe was just a bit too snug but I've read that the barrie lasted boots can be a little tighter fitting than LWB.

Also is $540 a good price for a pair of new LWBs?

For shell, that's an excellent price.
