I think the frye shell offerings are intended to attract more attention to te brand and elevate its name in consumers minds. case in point fryes entry into the upscale neiman Marcus. Think ford gt amongst a slew of midsize cars and pickup trucks. It's hard to believe that fryes would produce an exact style to compete with a market leads and the. List it for $100 more

Alden is definitely seeing a lot of competition lately. the interesting part of the Frye PTB is that it seems to have a nice sheen that is typical of Alden. AE also rolled out a new finish recently too.

Is the glossy finish's secret out? How come I didn't hear of it?

Most of my LWBs have this. Also, a handful of other wingtips (I have a pair of GMP that has this) that I own have this. I think it is where the vamp leather piece and the wing attached. Has not bothered me but again, you might have a different impression.

Does anyone have any "real life" photos of the Leffot pre-order saddle shoe in Color 8/Alpine Grain?  I am intrigued and would love to see how they look after some wear.

Thanks.

I think I've seen the LWB collection pics you've posted in the past RTP. What is your favorite LWB, or how would you rank them? Or, is that like picking a favorite child?

1. Ravello

2/3. Color 8-Cigar

4. Black

I probably use my color 8 and cigar the most because I baby my ravello  smile.gif

Thanks for your thoughts RTP. How do you typically wear them or dress in general?

For everyone else's reference, here's the post I was referring to and a sample of RTP's collection pics from it:

My first Whiskey shell... Wingtip Bal Oxford on Tremont!  So very glad I sized down 0.5 (same as Barrie) -- the tremont feels narrower in the toe box than the barrie (not by much though), but is still pretty round and bulky like the LWB.  Very happy!

Should I be concerned with the creasing so close to the base of the lasing?  I feel like they fit well, but I've never seen any of my shells crease in this spot.

Very nice. Alden SF appears to have my size.
