I wouldn't be surprised if all of the J. Crew Ravello LWBs were scooped up by members/lurkers on here, haha. I don't think the typical J. Crew shopper will spend $700 on shoes so easily.

The NYC men's stores are a bit of a different animal. When I was at the Ludlow store two guys were attempting to buy suits or tuxes to wear to an even that night with shirts and shoes.

Also remember that those stores have been stocking Aldens for a couple of years

Same story with the local men's store. J. Crew really hit it home with their one stop shop idea. I saw quite a few men leaving the store with several bags, with things ranging from suits to tee's and shorts.

None of my two eyelet shell chukkas are too loose. Some find that to be the case, but not all.

I had BNelson make the welt on my Cigar LWBs dark brown. biggrin.gif

I'm considering a Suede Tassel.  Already have #8 and have plans for Cigar Tassels, but thinking about suede in addition.

I haven't bought a pair of calf shoes since I got my first pair of shells.  That was 8 shoe purchases ago.  I barely wear my calf shoes anymore, but wore a pair on Wednesday due to the threat of inclement weather.  I have Swims, but just think of them as fit for occasions when I get caught in a bind.  If I'm sure it will rain/snow I leave the shell at home.

That is a shame. I would truly like to own a pair, but I have not found a comfortable size on that last.

All of my Aldens were bought online. The only somewhat local place I have is LSBH.
