I'm glad you got them.  I think you'll like the Leydon last.  And, of course, I'm a big fan of natty CXL.

Alden x Epaulet Natural CXL Longwing (97871), Leydon.

Currently starting wear #1 of Mac break in method. Oh, how I hope these babies fit. Love the color and various subtleties across the shoe - exactly what I was looking for in a casual LWB.

Thanks to Uncle Mac, herrmj, NYI, wj4, PhiPsi, alcibiades, & beatlegeuse for your consultations over the last month or so. Really appreciate the input.

Anybody score those gorgeous whiskey PTBs in 10D from shoe mart last month and change their mind? I'm your man....

I got the J crew crepe sole LWB in the mail yesterday.  I was pleasantly surprised that the welt is black, not brown like shown in the photos.  Now I just need to figure out if the D width is good for me or not.  I have a PTB in 9.5E with a slightly loose right heel, and a 9.5D LWB thats slightly snug across the left vamp.  Can't decide which is better... I honestly think either will work, I just don't want to find out in two weeks that the D is too narrow.

Tight is bad.  Slightly snug will probably be OK.  It really depends on your comfort level.  Best of luck, and you made a nice score with the LWBs.

Someone should give J. Crew hell about this welt issue. Many people have complained about it here.

My second pair of #8 LWB. Scored on the bay for a song. My other pair has agatine eyelets, so I intend to put topys or commando soles on them and make them my bad weather 'wings.
Here's the second pair in different lights at home earlier and out about town just now.

I went to get new heels on my Cigar Indys and the cobbler talked me into a new approach. Damn! I like them.

Hi fellas,

I think Shoemart got their Ravello Chukkas in. I did a pre order and was told I would not be charged until the shoes are in. I just got an email with an invoice and order number.
