It might be the same or wider. In terms of fit, though, it may not be so simple.

What are you trying to do?

Speaking of Whiskey (I think these are Whiskey)....not a bad BIN for Shell PTBs:

These are whiskey - model 9905. I am wearing 9905's as I type. And I agree, that is not a bad BIN price.

I have Trubalance and Barrie models in the same size - 9D. Width is about the same.

Plus...just noticed free shipping...even better deal. If they were my size, it would be over.

Nice day to support my Ravens with some purple argyle socks and Cigar LWBs.  Could use some edge dressing.  I know SevenFoldTie had suggested AE's Chili in the past, but was curious if the multiple colors in the stacked heel and double sole would be lost if chili were used??  Thanks in advance for your feedback...

If you are talking the current captoe shell boot BB sells (C&J for BB) - $998, you most likely will not be able to achieve the same level of shine of various Alden shells, no matter what you do. I have them. Mine shined nicely after an application of saphir reno, but still not to the level of some of my Alden shells. Don't worry about it .... they are still great boots.

I don't know what C&J do to their cordovan, but they're a royal PITA if you want to get that cordovan to shine.
When new they're really loaded up with brown polish which gives them kind of a dull finish.
It takes a lot of buffing and brushing to get rid of it. Saphir reno does seem to help.
After a while you can get rid of the excess and it's easier to maintain the shine.

When I was a cordovan newb, I made the mistake of using too much brown polish on my Marlows. It didn't do any damage but it make the dullness worse and took even more time getting rid of the excess.

Not sure the picture shows the shine well, but I feel as though the Mac method does well to shine my C&J-(RL) Marlows up nicely.  These are about a month old and I haven't applied anything to them but a horse hair brush and a flannel buffing rag.  I think they look better than my Cigar LWBs with the same treatment.

How in the heck did you find these on ebay with that terrible item headline, "mens shoes."  They didn't show up on any of my typical search items (alden 10, alden shell, shell cordovan, etc...).  I am awfully tempted to give whiskey shell a first try!

ReppTie, how does your Marlow size compare to your Barrie size? For my next pair of Marlows, I may size up 1 for Barrie.

You should grab whiskey shell if you don't have it
