You know, buying shoes via the interweb works quite well.
Sizing shoes via the interweb, not so much.

Suck it up and order an 11 and if it doesn't fit, return it.
Shoe Mart seems to have 11d ncxl and they take returns.
Sorry for being so vague. I was just wondering what the general consensus is when it comes to sizing on Indy's. I've read on The Shoe Mart that it's about half a size down and then I ran into that guy yesterday who said he sized down a whole size and a half. I should have been a bit more concise.

No worries.

Now that you've tried a pair on, don't go by what other say.
Go by how the ones you tried on felt. If they were really "a tad too snug", the 11 will likely fit.

I tried on a pair of Indy's in a size 10.5 since the guy helping me said he sized down a full size and a half in his Indy's (and that was the biggest the store had at the time) but they were just a tad too snug. I'm debating if I should go up just a half a size to an 11 or up to an 11.5. Any kind of insight would be really helpful. Thanks!

Not a big deal. Order two sizes and return the one that doesn't fit. Sizing down 1.5 sizes is curious.

Do the current cigar shells really develop an olive colored patina over time?

Any pics of the cigar captoe boot in the wild? Wondering how it looks on chinos and denim.

^ you notice the olive hue right out of the box. Leffot Cigar Indy after about 10 wears:

PSA:

Looks like The Shoe Mart received a restock of their whiskey nst shoes. Almost every size available except 8D and the very large sizes:

Possible silly question alert.

You know those lovely flat waxed laces on so many Alden boots? Yeah. Is there any way to keep them flat? Are they even supposed to remain so? It certainly looks much more visually pleasing, but I wonder if I'm doing something wrong or if they just naturally get twisted around over time.

You are doing something wrong. Keep them flat when you lace them. OCD helps.

I've kept mine flat for the month or so I've had my boots.  I just laced them with the laces flat, and whenever I untie them I make sure to flatten out the laces after the top eyelet (just sort of pull across the whole thing).

I've found Alden boot laces to be pretty shoddy in quality. (all of mine have broken within a couple months)
Red Wing offers a flat waxed boot lace that is outstanding, and I think you can still request a free pair from them.

Does anybody actually have Alden bags that fit boots? I have probably 5 pairs of bags that don't get used since they don't fit the bootst they came with

I was all set to get in on the Kudu w/modified last MTO but ended up really needing a more aggressive sole.

The first word that came to mind when I unboxed the boots was "substantial".  The fit is great out of the box, but I am still interested in ordering a pair of boots on the modified last.  Natural PTB's are next I think.

One question for you all:  I was kind of expecting to have a nice pair of the white cloth bags I see in a lot of photos in this thread.   Do Indy's come in plastic bags? (see picture).
My 403s and 404s didn't have bags

Still people are asking for more discount.

We do this because obviously the market is smaller for sizes over 10. The most common size in the US is about 9-9.5 and in Asia about 8-9. Yet we always get complaints that we don't have enough large sizes. Now you know the reason.

Thanks this is interesting. If you don't mind sharing how are the margins on Edward Green and GC?
