The real question is what is Alden's total cost of goods sold?  How much are they making a pair?

A fair question - the answer to which we shall never know. biggrin.gif

agreed. this is my third order from them, nothing but positive dealings.. would have bought 3-4 pair off the clearance had I moved quick enough frown.gif

Tom - please start ordering your plaza and leydon shoes in E widths - I promise you they will all sell out. I wanted to buy the anniversary chukka but I need an e width in that last

I'm not sure, but I'd imagine they are unionized.  They're American made goods.  They're going to be more expensive.

***Edit***

If you think this is bad, you should prices in Japan  .  .  .

I too have had positive dealings.

If you wish to make a purchase, and availability is hanging in the balance, you must call. I have benefitted from this practice. satisfied.gif

The Leydon may be my least favorite last.

But I love the Plaza.

The other thing people don't consider is all what makes a company expense from salary to taxes. Not just the cost of the actual making of the shoe.

I ain't mad at ya, Tom. I'm always treated like a king by you and your peeps (even though I have weird sizing issues). No complaints, and there is definitely something to be said for being treated like a valued customer.

Speaking of LS, hop on those loden green plaza last loafers that were posted, gents. Beautiful, IMO!
