Dress shoes and shoes/boots used casually? Or just those used casually?

I'd say all shell colors and so far my Color 8s(aside from JGilbert captoe), Ravello and Black shell all have antique edge trim. I do tend to use my shoes in a more casual setting.

I'm curious about the black shell with antique edge.  Do you have any pics to post?  Which black shells do you have?

It's the Pitt boot from LS I quoted on the previous page.

Now that I see the black shell ones up close, I am on the fence. Was just thinking that if I am doing a loafer in black shell, I may as well do a tassel loafer or something a little dressier. Thoughts?
The #8s minus the split toe seem a bit dressier than my #8s with it. So, I think I can justify keeping them for sure. The black ones I am hemming and hawing about though.

These are great - I don't recall seeing a grant lasted, non split toe loafer. I will definitely check these out soon

Right.  I saw it after I made this post. I suppose a more casual black shell boot can work with the antique edge. Not sure about LWBs, PTBs, etc...

Anyone have any opinions about the RL brown shell Lindrick boot vs. the Cigar WT boot? Anyone have both?

nephew,
tassels are classy which were invented by alden in 1947

Alden sells a brown paste wax, but no need to apply paste wax for a while (unless the shoes were purchased used and need some TLC)

Hello Forum,

New here and have a question for you. I'm getting ready to buy a pair of Alden cordovan perforated cap toe bal. I've noticed that. The tongues on the ones I see for sale have a tongue with the top serrated. I'm not a fan of that and want to make sure the ones I order won't have that. Is there a name for that detail?

I'm having them made special since I have very wide feet and no one stocks them normally (that I've found) so I'm hoping having plain topped tongues can be done without much trouble.

Thank you in advance and I'll probably stick around for a while.

Happy New Year,

Dugan
