And please don't tell me Alden.com. Their site is as terrible as their shoes are good.

For sheer numbers of models, ability to see numerous shell colors, and ability to see numerous decent quality pics at different angles, The Shoemart wins going away.

A very nice boot - one I would give serious consideration to getting should it become available. nod[1].gif

Where did you buy it? Built on which last?

Ah, now I get it.  It's easy to misinterpret with online posts.  Thank you for clarifying.

I don't much like pebble grain either...reminds me of cheap wallets I owned in middle school or those Sandra moscolini (?) abominations I see at nordy rack. To each his own though smile.gif

Got caught in an absolutely horrible downpour en route to Alden SF

1000

But it was worth it because I picked up some whiskey chukkas today, first whiskey and first chukka in my ownership

1000

Beautiful shoes

Doesn't look like your #8s are any worse for the wear. I have yet to be caught out in a downpour with mine, so I'm a bit leary of that experience.

Not much of a chukkas man, but those really look nice.

Congrats.

i try not to go out in shell if i know if's going to rain, but ultimately these are leather shoes and a little water won't kill em.

so going to rome for a week, and most likely won't be able to bring ALL my aldens (up to 11 pairs at the moment..yeeesh).

how many do you find you can travel with? 3? 1 on foot and two packed?

Buon Natale e Buon Anno!

Aden's can add an appreciable amount of weight. For a week, I would think 3 pairs would be the maximum. I know you have a nice collection and it is great to show the rotation, but I think you would do fine with a pair on your feet and one packed. It may be obvious, but one of those pairs should be boots at this time of the year in Rome.

I traveled to Rome last year with my Indy boots and they were a great choice. Some of the historic sites can get pretty dusty if you're headed in that direction.

Enjoy your trip!

Those really are stunning. I'm sure its the lighting but the top pics look very burgundy-ish Color 8 while the bottom two look very cigar-ish Color 8. Either way, they are a great makeup.
