I had the chamois indy from shoemart. I really liked them and the leather was really rugged much like the kudu. Unfortunately they were my first alden purchase and I made the mistake of getting a E width which my feet were swimming in. I would definitely recommend the shoemart chamois indy or cap toe both of which come on the commando. I agree the lug sole on the kudu indy is just too rugged looking

Was ist das "o/s" shine?  Outlaw Shark?

Outstanding.  That's what I always thought it meant when Mac says "Nephew, O/S shine"

Moulded Shoe also does what I believe to be a v-tip.

As does Leather Sole on occassion.
Thank you! I had forgotten that the v-tip is also called the Algonquin split toe. This opens up a few more options on TSM and unionmade.

I'm thinking you're right, and I'm also thinking the original shorthand meant the unpaid/unresolved definition of 'outstanding.'  Whatever.

Would it be possible for you to post some pictures of yours? I am considering getting on J. Gilbert's preorder list but would like to have a better indication of how they look on the Plaza.

Thanks,

I'm not at home. This may help:

I called Sherman Bros yesterday and this woman picked up. I asked her about the sale and she confirmed it. When I asked her if I could buy a 975 over the phone she said she it might be possible but that she would have to check with the owner. I told her the size I was looking for and she said she would call me back.

About 30 minutes later she calls me back and says she checked with a co-worker and that it was in-store only. Asked me if I was in the area and that I could stop buy as they were in stock. I live in New York so it's not really possible for me.

Maybe I will have better luck if I call again and get a different rep? I called the Customer Service number on the website.

Thanks, I saw that in the past but was hoping to get a better look or perspective (side and top). In those shots it looks very long. Does it have a 360 deg welt? Flat or storm?

Newest addition... J Crew Cap Toe boot in color 8.  Haven't decided if I will keep them.  Not sure boots are for me.  May go with a cap toe medallion blucher (2145)  instead if I can find it.
