I do indeed have the #8 beefrolls from Rancourt.
The two loafers are different beasts (aside from the different strap). The Rancourts are really much more casual, unlined with a softer construction in the toe and in the sole (no Goodyear welting). The Rancourts come across as being much more of a handsewn shoe to me. Once broken in, they are like wearing slippers. That's why I like them.
But I also like that, while the LHS has the hand stitching on the toe, it also has a more substantial feel with a high toe box that I think is going to stay that way from the photos I've seen here.
I really like them both.
