For those who have received their ravello captoe boots from Unionmade and have worn them: initial thoughts?

There is some color variation, got from B&S so saw it already. I'm ok with it though as the strap is a bit darker. Coworker mentioned that she really liked the "two-tone" color. I don't mind as I will be wearing pretty casually.

Thinking of pulling the trigger on these scotch grain chukkas, it says plantation crepe sole but I see commando, correct?

Have no experience with scotch grain, is it like calf?

^ It's embossed calf. I've never noticed a difference in wear, but the couple pairs of pebble grained calf golf shoes I've owned in the past seemed to be more water repellent. That shouldn't make any difference since calf is calf. Just one of the mysteries of life.

REguy--thanks, I do plan to wear them in foul weather.

Don't put too much weight on my anecdotal evidence. I'm assuming the leathers Alden uses are similar to what Foot-Joy used for golf shoes, but they'll still get drenched. Speaking of Foot-Joy, I think Alden bought up some of their old equipment when they closed. No one makes a good golf shoe anymore, but that's a rant for a different thread.

Nothing like the old Footjoy Classics (dry premiere)... I picked up a bunch before they closed down the US factory.  The new models don't even come close.  I think the AE golf shoes look about the same as the classics, but I have not tried them though.  Anyone ever own a pair of Alden golf shoes?  any recommendations?  Sorry for the marginal follow-up post on this thread...
