BB doesn't market them as Aldens explicitly-

TSM irregular list in my inbox this morning. At least for the 8.5-9 range, same shit as the last three lists.

11.5 and 12d lists arrived, considerably less than the previous lists. nothing worthwhile

Got the 9.5 and 10 list this morning. Nothing to write home about on the 9.5 list.

+1.  I love this shoe, and to me, it has less of a "security guard" look than the factory model 9901.  It is sleeker (M-58 last), cleaner (no storm welt), and the eyelet covers, while an acquired taste, are sweet.  I enjoy it so much that I got the Color 8 version also, and these are 2 of my favorite Aldens.

Still my Fav Boots. Indy Cordo Color 8s. BTW...props to Alden for some great service on these when I had a bit of an issue. JT

Ah, thanks.  I do like the eyelets, but I'm not seeing where they are any better, though $25 is trivial at this price point.  To me the Aldens look a little more...classic, or, for want of a better word, Alden-ish.  Having said that, does Brooks Brothers ever have any sales?

Also, seeing as I have an Alden store here in DC I think I'm going to get it straight from the source.

My TSM email in 10D has this style listed but a broken image. Curious if someone can tell me what it is?

I gotta disagree with you on the "security guard look" part.  The metal eyelets are definitely more "security guard"-ish than the 9901.

Thanks. When I searched the site I used the full ID and nothing came up. Didn't even occur to me to drop the letters!

Did anyone get the 9D list? Or no 9Ds this time?

Here is a pick of my new Ravello LWBs which I bought from the Alden DC store. Do you think this quantum of color variation is acceptable in Ravello shell? Sorry for the picture quality. appreciate your feedback.1000

That may be true, but the storm welt and last shape far override the eyelets.  Trust me on this.  I have both, and when it's time to reach for the dressier shoe, I always go BB.

Ask Sevenfoldtieguy about this - he has close to 50 pairs of Aldens and will attest to this issue.  If I were you I'd check out the BB...

No objection.

IMO, the Alden for BB version is dressier given the flat welt and sleeker last. I have owned the factory version 990 and 9901. Also, the 990 has contrast stitching which - while unique, and perhaps even desired - makes the shoe more casual than its BB counterpart.
