I use the shoe trees with the spring whip and knob at the heel but mainly because it is hard to find shoe trees that fit my small shoes. No issues.

^^ Nice boots! Cognac is a great color, especially with denim.
Was a LS cognac chukka pic that first got me interested in Alden. Unfortunately, I don't think they ever remade it.

New arrival, Natural CXL Indy (Epaulet makeup). These are very comfortable boots and got some looks

nice. how do you like the black Lindricks? is there an Alden model you would compare them to?

I have Alden suede plain toe bluchers in navy and snuff suede

Im not crazy about the shoelaces they come with, I prefer the laces the chukkas come with.

Im not looking for crazy colors, any suggestions where I can purchase a good set?

All of my Alden boots are shell, so in my personal collection I guess I wouldn't have a comparable.

I really do like these and the fit is great. I went TTS - 9.5D. Interestingly, these boots from RL said 9.5D (UK8.5), whereas my dark brown shell marlows - also from RL - were labeled 9.5D (UK9E). Each pair fits my feet the same. Because they are calf, I will probably have an easier time beating them up - not that I will try to beat them up, just won't be quite as particular about the conditions I wear them in. Overall I am very happy with the purchase - they retail for $1,100 and I got them for $655. Strangely enough, the RL website was selling the same boot - in brown shell - at the same price point.

So .. I'm hoping that the recent appearance of the Day Trippers will herald the next lot of Epaulet Ravello Brixtons.



I think this might be a Northampton thing generally? .. all my EG shoes have this (don't have any EG boots).

I'm not one for black shoes, but that pair is calling to me.  I'll have to get back to Tokyo and try them on!
