FWIW, tongue slipping meant the shoe was too wide for my foot.

That would make sense, except the tongue that slips with my boots happens on the foot that is the largest.

Happens to me too, regardless of how tight I tie the boots.

I'm surprised I fit into this truebalance last at size 10 when I'm a size 12 average.

My feet only put pressure on the toe area slightly in stride - not uncomfortable at all.

I'm just wondering, wouldn't the leather stretch out a bit over time to accomadate?

How snugly do some of you guys wear them?

EDIT:

After walking around some more I think these are a perfect fit nearly. I may not be use to having a close fitting shoe due to tennis shoes and such typically requiring more toe room.

Neither. It is not a/k/a anything. It is a separate last all to itself - and is made only for BB as I understand it.

It is one of my favorite Alden lasts. It fits TTS. I have numerous models on the Snap.

If anyone is looking I saw a brown chromexcel perf. captoe at Alden NYC recently. Not sure what last or sole.

Not new, just purchased from a member here. To be honest I blame you Coldsnap, seeing you wearing the ROY's made me regret the sale sooooo much. I was hunting for another pair of ROY's and found these which are similar to the ROY's (truebalance last and CXL). Not exactly the same makeup but close enough!

cheers

I condition all my shoes/boots prior to first wear - Saphir reno or a good shoe cream for calf; Saphir reno or Saphir shell cordovan cream for shell. Indeed, my lastest two color 8 additions have recently gotten the reno treatment: (1) NST boot on the Plaza (JGilbert); (2) wingtip boot on the Plaza (JGilbert). nod[1].gif

Those definitely look great.  The soles look like they will last a good number of years before they need any work.

Seven - I should have figured that. I agree very TTS. It looks similar to the Grant, though, no? Do know of any other lasts with a similar fit? It is one of my favorites as well.
