What if you get a scuff on dark brown CXL? What's the recommended approach? My instinct was to use a little Saphir cream polish and lots of brushing, but I thought I'd check.

Slightly related, what's the recommended color of paste to use on #4?

Some use a dab of brown cream only on the effected area. I've never done it and eventually the color/scuff evens out (with brushing and reno/vsc/neatsfoot oil).

I will never find a pair right?

Probably not from Leather Soul anytime soon, but JCrew appears to be coming out with a NST suede boot soon. A photo was posted here on the forum about a month ago, and here is the link: http://www.styleforum.net/t/85589/the-official-alden-thread/35715

I've found the Copley to fit similar to the Leydon.

There's a shop in Harvard Sq. at the corner of Mt. Auburn and Mass Ave. which did an impeccable topy job for me. Do not go to Felix Shoe Repair down the street.

I echo REguy, waban is good, but can be annoying (and he's cash only) and I've heard bad things about Felix (overpriced, not great work)
A relatively new shop is Colonial Shoe repair downtown
The owner is awesome. He went through the vibram catalog with me and told me the pros/cons based on what i needed resoled. Will def give him business in the future.

Guys, can someone please confirm that the Alden for Brooks "Snap" last is in fact the Alden Grant last. I have seen posts that it may be the Hampton last but it looks Grant to me.

I can find plenty of pics of new(ish) black Indys, but anyone have any of them worn in after a year or three?  Would be interested in seeing them...

Thanks.

Major #firstworldproblems this morning. frown.gif
(Any ideas why this happens in general?)

Happens for a few of my boots as well, think it's how your foot goes with boot? If it really bothers you, you can get the tongue stitched to the side of the shoe - search this thread as members have done it before or if you can see a C&J boot in person, a lot of them have this feature as well

It's funny because this only happens on my #8 captoe boots. The other Alden boots and other brands' boots do not do this. And it is also only my left side with slipping tongue. The right is fine.

I generally have seen it most pronounced w/ my captoes (Plaza) and CXL Indys (Tru). Also Adidas Sambas.
