It looks like all sizes of this boot are now in stock so a shipment must have come in, for anyone else that was waiting...

Can anyone recommend a Metro Boston cobbler? Looking to fit new soles on an old pair of PTBs while my wife wants her Trickers dyed a darker color. Thanks in advance!

I would probably get a lot of wear out of something like that for business casual purposes. I have a pair of NST tanker boots in color #8 on the barrie (and am wearing them right now) and they are my go to boots when I want to wear boots to the office. I think the cigar color would be just as useful. I often see people post their NST shell shoes in here and get very tempted each time I see a pair. I think the NST is a love it or hate it type of shoe/boot though.

I think it looks really good in boot form.. something about the shoe thought that I do not like.

Agreed. Not a fan of the Barrie, but Mac's NST-shoe on Barrie linked above looks really good.

That's good advice. I've had less than great experiences over the yrs in Boston. My one positive was for the Hammer & Last in Hampton, NH which is near me in Newburyport. He added a vibram/topy to two pair of RMW boots which came out fantastic.

However, when I need soles replaced, I'm sending to B. Nelson in NYC. Their JR Rendenbach sole service is stellar.

Waban Shoe Repair or The Sole Man (right across the street from each other) have been good to me. However, they can both be difficult if they're not into what you want. I could see something like a dye job being problematic.

There's a shop in Harvard Sq. at the corner of Mt. Auburn and Mass Ave. which did an impeccable topy job for me. Do not go to Felix Shoe Repair down the street.

May I ask where you are looking into for these? I have been looking for a shoe in this makeup.
