Just in yesterday -- Greenwich boot at Leffot in Burnished Tan Calfskin: https://twitter.com/#!/Leffot/statuses/141985708528238592

The Greenwich boot is similar to Epaulet's Brixton: Barrie lasted wingtip boots with all eyelets. This one has double waterloc soles.

The navy nubuck version from way back was the bees knees. Anyone who has a pair lying around should post pics.

Yes, but as Mr H. Hide points out, you'll still have a dark welt.

Fantastic link! Thank you for posting it.

My impulse to take it to a cobbler stemmed from having seen DIY pics that presented a finished product looking like this:

Obviously the link you provide describes how to get better results. I wonder if it's worth 90 minutes per pair of shoes, though...

Also, if you're looking for a more artistic type of service, Ron of Rider Boots will antique any good shoe, not just his. I've only seen him work on calf, though.

He has a thread with many pics of his handiwork here: http://www.styleforum.net/t/45530/shoe-antiquing

It method doesn't change colors of reverse welt and welt.
Mostly shoes has same color on reverse welt and welt as sole edge.
Is it OK ?
I heard if change welt and reverse welt, It should be completely decomposed shoes.

I missed out on that navy Greenwich Leffot boot. That boot is UNBELIEVABLE!! I wish that Alden would do more navy blues with their shoes. I would love a deep navy lwb over a black one anyday! Speaking of blue picked these up recently.

I tried it using paint brush cleaner and Q-tips to dissolve and wipe away the edge color first, and then sanded. I think it took me about a 1/2 hour per shoe. I used a tan shoe polish to add color back, and then a natural edge dressing.

Six new boot makeups at Unionmade. I think I'm doing the shell Kirkwoods captoes in Color 8.

Whoa, those are awesome. I may have to do the same with the laces on my navy suede ptb's. I'm assuming they came with those laces? Need to get a pair.
