Judging by this picture, this could pass for a dark ravello quite easily. It must have been a particularly light batch of cigar. Or perhaps it is just the picture ....

My cigar shell/snuff suede saddles from Leffot have very light cigar.

Mike,

Is the moc toe on your Chromexcel Indy boots hand stiched? I don't know if I have seen that on a chromexcel model

Based on the above boot alone, the last looks much nicer than say, Barrie. It has a nice shape that's a little more stylish while not betraying Americana for European last-stylings.

My own humble opinion, of course.

I think they have to be able to work for your feet, the arch support in particular. But I like the look as well, at least on some models. These PT cigar boots and stevet's Ravello model are really outstanding.

Seems very likely that they are only showing sizes that they either have in stock or on order from Alden.

I use insoles in all my boots as I guess I have sensitive soles so need more padding.  I guess that could be considered "orthopedic".  So far, the Modified last is the best fit for my foot, although I have only tried Barrie and Trubalance in addition to the Modified so far.  I have a couple of Barrie-lasted boots that I like but they don't fit my feet as well as the Modified.

As far as appearance, the pics of the Modified last boots just posted are gorgeous. Based on pictures I've seen, I would NOT buy any Modified last shoes as I think they look pretty ugly.  Also, I'd like to try some Plaza and Grant-lasted boots as they appear a bit sleeker than the Modified or Barrie.

Regarding the Alden x J.Crew #8 PCT boots, all the sizes with a 11/14 ship date disappeared a couple of days ago, with only a few sizes left that have a Feb ship date.  I don't know if that means the 11/14 shipment came in and is all spoken for or that it is simply all spoken for.  It just seems strange that all the 11/14 sizes would disappear at once.  I've been tracking this as I'm expecting a pair on 11/14 and patience is not my virtue.

yea I wanted to place an order for 8.5 not sure what is going on. They usually just keep pushing the backorder date back which I'm fine with. I just don't want them to discontinue the boot!

I was speaking to Moulded Shoe awhile back and he told me something to the effect that there is no machine that can stitch double soles for the Modified last. That they could glue a 2nd sole on but couldn't stitch it for that last.  That confuses me because I have a pair of natty CXL boots from TSM on the Modified last that have double waterlock soles.

I prefer double soles and noticed that all of Moulded's Modified last boots are single soled.  Does Anatomica have any that are double-soled?

Probably bc Alden is like, "Dude, Jcrewsies, slow your roll.  We can't confirm 11/14.  We too busy pumping our Ravello bootz.  Call you back later, maybe."

I'm in the exact same boat!  Hoping that the shipment came in and all are spoken for...  hoping to see mine next week!  Best of luck...

I don't have any major issues with fit, just have slightly wider feet with higher instep. Modified last works fine for me in terms of fit. The arch seems really narrow but fits normally with just a bit of extra support

Strange Question: What is the model number on the Alden for BB Tassel Moccasin loafer? If anyone has it, please PM me. Thanks.
