I got my 403s at the end of 2011 and I think they were only $435. If that exact same model is now almost $500, that's a pretty significant increase for a time period of less than a year.

Yeah prices went up right at start of 2012 I believe. I got both my 403s and 404s for under retail but had to pounce on them the moment I saw them. Given lwbs are up to $715+ it's expected given the demand

I had been wearing a 8.5D in both Trubalance and Barrie, though I probably could wear an 8. When I bought the Plaza boots, I decided to give the 8.5D a try, and it fits pretty well. I think if I bought another Barrie shoe, I'd probably try an 8D, or maybe an 8.5C.

Also if a 6D Barrie fits you well then a 6D Trubalance should work well for you. I personally wear a 6.5D Barrie and 6D Trubalance although my feet could work with a 6E Barrie/Trubalance.

403. Happy to talk more if you still want them.

Some data points
405s were $315 in early 2008
LS #8 cordos were $600 in late 2007
Whiskey for $625 in mid 2009.

@ sevenfoldtieguy - are your Marlows darker than mine?

Yes - mine are indeed darker.

OK - than i understand why you plan to use the Saphir dark brown shell cordovan cream on your Marlows if you want to add a bit of colour.
For my shade of brown no way - i do like it so much - that's why i use the light brown Burgol to keep it.

I'm considering the Ravello cordovan NST boot from ShoeMart, but I'm concerned that the Aberdeen last might be too narrow in the forefoot.  It would be my first Alden, so I have no other lasts to compare it with.  I do own AEs on the 1 and 7 lasts, both of which pinch my toes but fit well otherwise.  Does anyone have any experience with either of these two lasts vis-a-vis the Aberdeen?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The fit will be quite different compared to AE's 1 and 7. The Aberdeen is TTS - I wear 9.5D. The Aberdeen will not have the toe pinching that is common to the 7. I wear AE's 1 and 7 in 10C/10D.

PSA: J. Crew's sending out emails to cardholders for 25% off plus free shipping. Just purchased the Natty CXL "longwing" boots for $404 + tax.

Question: Anyone know what last these are on?  Assumed barrie, as my other wtb's are, but it doesn't say.

lucky you. it's not supposed to cover "in good company" collaborations... even for cardholders. sometimes you get lucky. i did once on a pair of crockett's from j. crew.

Yeah, I was surprised it worked. Typically, I wouldn't even had bothered trying. I also tried it on Barbour which WAS exempt … interesting.
