Great PIC.

I ordred a pair as well this past weekend. Unfortunately it appears I will have to wait until after Nov 14 to get mine.

Thanks to the mac method biggrin.gif

They looked pretty drab out of the box so I went at em with the brush for 15-20 min last night in front of the tv.

If they were recrafted at the factory they would say "Alden Restoration" on the heel pad. If they were recrafted by a third party the Alden stamp would not be there at all.

I obviously can't say for sure just based on pictures, but this doesn't look like a recraft to me - the uppers look no more worn than the soles.

Hi all - looking for some advice. Got a pair of 403 'Indy' boots from Alden, directly. Felt good from the get-go. After a few days the left arch started bothering me. Felt high compare to the right, which I can't really feel. Sent them back to the shop for an inspection and they replaced the heelpads as the left was too far forward. Got them back and the issue persists - about 30 min standing and arch is getting irritated. Tried flat insoles, no help. Superfeet type don't really fit as the insole is already contoured.

I'm close to selling them off - maybe my feet just won't work in them - contrary to all the literature about them being good for finicky feet. My only other idea is to have my brother wear them and see if he feels the same thing, possiblt indicating a defect in the left which perhaps Alden would treat.

Thanks for any advice.

Don't do that!  Keep the wingtip; go for both.  They're different enough --- PCT vs wingtip.

I'm considering a pair of these too. Barrie last, right?

Sorry to hear it appears as they still aren't working out for you. If they aren't working for you then  I would contact Alden a second time and see what they would be willing to do..

Thanks dddrees.  I'll see what they say - but they took them back for inspection and didn't do anything aside from replacing the heel pads and leather.  I've been struggling with them for more than a couple weeks, so they are definitely not in returnable shape.

Good luck, the worse they can say is no. Besides it seems like it's worth a try.
