I wish I did! I bought the 10.5D ones that were here on SF. But the bay listing just disappeared.

Not unlikely, considering that for a high ticket item like this, eBay's (I think) 9% can be a good chunk of money.

I'm pretty sure that ebay changed their policy recently that if you pull an auction listing with bids prematurely, you incur the Final Value Fee of the highest bid when it is pulled. Not surprised since this has been a common practice. Of course if you pull something at 350 that is worth 700, you still come out a little bit ahead.

"Starting October 1, sellers will be charged a fee to end an Auction-style listing early if it has received a bid.
The fee will equal the amount of the final value fee had the listing ended naturally and sold for the highest bid received when the seller ended the listing.
In rare situations, a seller may need to end a listing early, so the fee will be waived the first time a seller ends a listing early each calendar year"

What other options are out there for captoe shell Alden boots in color 8?  I'm aware of JCrew, any others?

hopefully this isnt the case for the #4 wingtip boots that ive been waiting for

I see both #4 boots are still listed on their site as of this afternoon (search for "color 4"). They upped the price of the wingtip boots to $705. Hmmm....

I got cancelled for both the #4 Wingtip and Captoe boots. And I paid in full for both in advance. To their credit, they did refund me promptly once I was told the bad news (after sitting on my payment for the past seven months).

Is anyone aware of a retailer that has an NST with a 360 degree welt like this?

I've only seen such a welt on NST boots. Apparently these were purchased from Leather Soul.

That's great they gave you your money back but to sit on that money (and that of everyone else who put down on a pair) for half a year is kind of ridiculous.
How can they ask for all that money upfront, and with no guarantee to deliver the goods. Does anyone know if alden asks for cash upfront form retailers like shoemart prior to their placing a big order?
i feel Like everyone who participated in the preorder effectively gave the shoemart a short-term loan with no interest.

I think he offered? I didn't pay upfront for my #4 boots and they charged my card when it shipped
