Does anyone have any idea when Alden will start shipping out the 30mm Color 8 shell belts again? I've been looking for a while (nearly six months), but everyone keeps saying that Alden is looking a different manufacturers to produce their belts and they're all waiting for shipments. The 35mm belts produced by other makers are a little too wide for my taste, and if I'm going to drop $250 on a belt, I want to make sure it's a perfect color match. Dark Color 8 not burgundy shell.

Any info would be appreciated. My thanks to the forum.

I feel the same way about the, maybe when I am older.

I am looking at buying a pair of Epaulet Rivet Chinos possibly. I mainly dress casually - button downs, sweaters, chinos, jeans - best describes my style.

I'm not quite sure which color to get. I don't shy away from navy/indigo too often for pants :). Comfort zone!

I have cigar LWBs, just bought alden x leffot ravello cap toe boots, cxl indy, and chocolate suede shoes (AE)

What do you all think about these with that line up?

(I could only buy one pair from epaulet, and those are two options)

If I could afford it, I'd get the tweed or flannel navy :). But those run ab $235

Very interesting. Do you have a low, normal, or high instep? I have both a wide foot and a high instep, so perhaps the overall volume I need is the difference between your experience and mine.

I'll try out the D width and see how it goes.
I just don't want the bulge on the side of the shoes where my foot pushes the leather out. ..some cases beyond the sole.
I've noticed it happening on a few other shoes baldy[1].gif

I have the unlined Brooks Bros loafers and they bulge only very slightly. They are the first pair of loafers I've tried on that fit well.

Taupe is the right choice.

OF COURSE THE FIRST DAY I WEAR MY NEW CIGAR LONGWINGS IT WOULD RAIN.

Luckily, just a few minor water spots on the vamp... but still, do those ever come out?!

Thought maybe the higher vamp tassels would be a good trade. But tassels?

i have Alden x Leffot Blue Suede Tassel loafs. i love them. compliments every time i wear them.

Yes tassels.

If you are considering a pair of tassel loafers, you might want to have a look over at Rancourt. These are MTO and you can select last, leather, soles, stitching etc. Available leather options include cxl, shell and a multitude of suedes.

Get the Alden rain protector spray for $15 (forgot the proper name.... Alden of DC sells it). I found the spots are a lot less pronounced after being in the rain once you apply.

Not 100% protection but it does help.

Of course, i looked outside this morn and said "naaaaah, i dont need my rubbers." By the time i got to NYC the rain was coming down nicely and my Cigar too has taken its lumps for the day. ffffuuuu.gif

I am the exact same size (true 9.5E in Barrie). I have shell boots in 9.5 E that fit like a glove. Unfortunately many retailers don't carry E sizes. So I bought the jcrew cap toe boots in 9.5D and had them stretched by my cobbler. The fit almost as well as 9.5Es.
