I was also considering the cxl perforated cap toe boot from AoNY, but thought they'd be too similar to my 403s.

My cap toe #8 caught a downpour today and got wet. Hit them with a brush a few hours later, should i re-apply some #8 cream on them?

I have a question, and I'd love some help!

I want to buy my first pair of nice boots. I am looking at a couple of different models for this winter. At the top of my list is the Alden Indy 403 or the Wolverine 1000 Mile.

I prefer the look of the 403. Would this boot be okay for the Boston winter. I go to college, so it would be sort of urban wear.

I would plan on getting them topied and use some Obenaufs LP/Venetian Shoe cream combo (or some variation of the sort - just some sort of protection and preservation combo (I am open to recommendations))

Thoughts?

Thanks so much (in advance)!

That CXL perforated captoe looks awesome, and it's not similar to Indy at all. You should get them as well.

Today: wore my favorite Alden make-up of all time - Color 8 shell straight cap toe boot with all eyelets, Grant last

and came back to my apartment to these.

Thanks J. Gilbert and Yenni!

On a side note, has anyone ever had toe taps (standard or flushed) installed on crepe soles?

I am entertaining the thought of buying the AoC ravello LWB but I need the leather tip to last.

Post some pics of the tan wing tip boots when you get a chance.

And I agree with the other post that the CXL PCT boot is way different from a 403 and you should get that also!  To hell with budgeting...

You might want to get something with a commando sole for Boston winters.

I'd probably wait like a week before putting anything on the shell if at all.

Get some Alden Leather Defender for next time.

Personally, I plan to thrash mine and let them build some character.

jcrew cap toe pebble grain iphone pics. Looks like those heel pads are in short supply...

I wish these had a plain cap toe, no perf, like the winn perry makeup.

crappy iphone pics.

these came from leather soul last week.

Brown CXL Wingtip Boots. All eyelets. Plaza last.

Treated with two layers of Montana Pitch Blend, which is why the color looks a bit darker than normal.

Today was the maiden voyage of the Bureau's Snuff Suede Moc Toe.  I had absolutely no delivery/customs problems with the Bureau and the shoes arrived in about 2 days -- a pleasant surprise.
