So what's the deal with mahogany? I know that it isn't produced lately, at least for Alden, but I'm sure Horween still has the recipe and could whip some up if they wanted. I wonder if they'd be willing to do it if a retailed asked for it in a large enough quantity. Maybe its too close to cigar so they sort of just picked one or the other? Same with number #4 perhaps? Too close to Ravello, so they consolidated it in order to use that capacity to produce larger quantities of fewer colors?
(I realize that #4 is still produced occasionally, before anyone feels the need to point that out.)
Just curious if there was any explanation or theory behind the extinction of mahogany ever discussed.
Also, how come this thread isn't as busy as it was up until recently? I guess people aren't wearing their Aldens as much due to the season? Wearing flip flops so they don't have them on to snap and post photos?
