There's no reason you couldn't have them reheeled with a lower heel, however that would potentially throw off the shoe. Most dress shoes have a bit of "rocker" built into them, that is, the toe is slightly higher than the midfoot. By lowering the heel, you'd be increasing the angle of the rocker, which could result in an uncomfortable shoe. Of course, reheeling it back to a taller heel would be a simple job.

Those look great and look to be broken in very comfortably. I think I may have to investigate purchasing a pair for the fall.

Allow me to share my humble experience: I just purchased my first pair of boots in modifed last and here's a comparison of me wearing a CXL chukka in Barrie last:

ce730feccaff11e19c6622000a1e89ba_7.jpg

and me wearing PCT boots in modified last:

The PCT boots in modified last actually felt more like my Leydon chukka than my trubalance indy.

Question --- are these chukkas brown CXL or a natural CXL that have darkened over time?

Very nice uncle sir.  May I ask how old they are?  They look almost new.

They are very similar fit wise with the Marlow being tighter overall.  And, because it's lined, it doesn't give like the unlined BB cordo penny.  In short, I had them in the same size but eventually had to go up 1/2 as my toes were cramped too much.  Up 1/2 for me.

What's the deal with J Crew? Since they don't sell these in their shops, is someone in their warehouse trying them on or something?

I'm really digging the boots though, Barrie last in a boot seems to work really well.

They sell them in some of the shops. I think all of the men's stores carry it. It's a great boot, though.

Agreed. I like them even more than I thought I would, great boots!

Hi guys, can I get an ID on these? #8 cordovan, what's the model?

I would be buying them used

Ask for the product code on the inside of the shoe.  A little buffing, and they should look very nice.

Looks like the 4060. Little mac method on those and they'll look like new (or like mac's).
