Mind revealing cost of flush metal toe taps? Looks great BTW.

Glad to help point you in the right direction. Nick V. does not disappoint. Now get some wear on those soles! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Does Alden water lock sole have a special welt that makes the sole more flexible?

Try wearing you new shoes a few times and observe the wearing at the toe after each wearing, If you see that the toe is wearing at a quicker pace than the rest of the sole then the sunken metal toe plates are appropriate. I find that the toes on doubled soled footwear normally wear quicker.
I suspect there are 2 reasons for this:
1. Double soles are heavier.
2. They are less flexible than single soled.
Also, the larger size lace up may contribute to wearing the toe prematurely.
Sometimes it's all about the wearer's gait and strictly that. Could be the case with you as well.

Nick V, just wanted it say thank you for being on this forum and responding. I am fairly new to paying real attention to shoes, how they're made, etc., and the knowledge you impart and help you provide is incredible. I am like a sponge and absorbing everything you and all the other veterans post. Thanks!

I have to ask...do they make an audible click or tap when you walk? Do you feel like you should do your best shuffle step across the floor?

I really like the idea but couldn't do it if sounds like you are wearing tap shoes...

Have metal taps on all my leather soled shoes and there are no audible clicks... this may be because I run and have learned to tread lightly tongue.gif

I also do not experience any problems with hardwood floors, become a conduit for lightning, or find that taps improve my dancing skills. lol8[1].gif
