Not sure of the last either. But a lot of people like the Brooks Brothers PTB.
I went TTS, I'm a pretty standard 9.5D (meaning 9D Barrie/Trubalance/Modified Lasts) and I went 9.5 D here. They are not as "fitted" as the 9D Barries, but definitely not too big. A little roomier than my 9D Barrie. Hope that helps.
thank you for the link.
looking at more pics got me thinking....
a cigar longwing with exposed brass eyelets would be mighty nice looking
and I think they'd look great on nearly any type of boot.
has anyone ever seen such a thing?

Help! I have a pair of Ravello Tassle Loafers in 11.5D for a few more days to decide if they are big enough. I normally wear an 11.5E in Aldens. I know I should get an 11.5E but they just aren't to be found anywhere. Do folks think the 11.5D might "stretch" enough to be comfortable? I know people will react, "well, how tight are they?" My answer is that they are snug. I tried them on with thin socks and they are a little better, but still, snug. (snug sounds better to me than tight.)
I am really looking to see if anyone has had experience with Alden Horween loafers and if they experienced enough of a stretch after wearing them? I love Ravello and these are the only ones I could find in any style even close to my size. I tried the same shoe in an 11E, but they were painfully tight, er ah, snug.
I have no experience with the Alden loafers, but I can say with some certainty that the barrie lasted shoes I have, have ALL felt fairly snug out of the box. After several wears though, each has loosened enough to notice. I don't think the shell "stretches," but the cork base will conform to the shape of your foot giving the feeling of loosening up. I would guess that the 11.5D you have would settle or loosen, but I can't say with any certainty. Has the 11.5E that you normally wear in Aldens, settled/loosened/stretched in your experience? If you haven't noticed this trend with your other Aldens, I wouldn't count on it with the 11.5D.
