Really depends. I'm a 10.5 in Barrie and just purchased some unlined Chukkas on the Leydon in 11D. Leydon is significantly narrower than Barrie. My foot is basically right in the middle of D and E width and fits in the Leydon D but just barely and that's on an unlined chukka so there's definitely some give there.

So I would say at it depends on a couple of things; namely how wide your foot is and what boot/shoe you are purchasing.

I think if I had pressed the issue they would have replaced them but I'd almost rather not lose the mileage that I've put on them. Though we'll see how they hold up once I get them back and we'll see if they fix my eyelet problem or just gloss over it. I'll probably call them again on Monday just to make sure that they actually take note of the issue.

Not sure but probably 6 months? I only wear casual shoes on the weekends (bals primarily on weekdays) and I have a fair amount of shoes so maybe I get to wear them 1-2x/month? I do try to take care of my shoes (e.g., put trees after wearing).

Compliments should go to shell since that is really the reason the creasing is minimal. biggrin.gif

Here's a question for you guys, and before I get flamed I'm really trying to understand, what's so great about chukkas?

I've never seen one in person and I guess I just don't see what makes them desirable? Do they wear differently or something? Please enlighten me!

Chukkas are classic ankle boots.  They can be casual (unlined suede) or formal (#8 shell).  Other than the Chukka vs. Chelsea thread, I haven't seen anyone pumping up the chukka boot.

I personally just like the way they sit with jeans and chinos. They're a nice casual middle ground between full on boots and bluchers. The lines are very clean and simple and they still look masculine, whereas I feel a lot of bluchers look sort of like "schoolboy" shoes.

Also, chukkas make nice all-weather shoes because their more rugged looks accommodate soles other than leather well.

Doesn't look quite right for an Indy.  Maybe some other type of mocc toe.
