You can still see the smooth contour of the toe box is completely in tact; there are no deep cuts or gashes.. it implies a very minor scuff that isn't penetrating at all from what I can see.

My bet is he'll end up with a two tone toe box if he follows your suggestion - the finish is gone and needs to be restored, all the polish in the world won't do that. My 2 cents.

Thanks to all of you gentlemen who led me to the light and showed me that keeping the #4 WT boots was the way to go.

Here are a few shots from today's maiden voyage.
Notice how much different they look in the natural light (3rd pic, although a cloudy day here in NYC)

Did you just get them? If so, you can return them to RL. I think they are pretty good with returns. 

 

Just curious, what is the fit issue with them? I have a pair on order and I ordered the same size I wear in Barrie.

need to admit that they're too big frown.gif they're in ok condition. the lining was flawed and I had alden professionally replace it (not really noticable), and the uppers are slightly dirty and the soles are medium worn. would be real cheap like $175. wanna give this thread the first go around before i post to B&S
