I'm getting ready to buy my first pair of Alden's on the modified last. They don't offer too much in shell. I've narrowed it down to the shoe above of this shoe in calf.

Which would you choose and why?
Thanks
I have the #8 cap toe boot on the modified last and I really do not feel it is good for slacks or a suit. The best would be khakis or jeans and a jacket, but it is a big boot. I would not get that for a dress shoe.

Interesting. When I was in a store sizing up I found that I was a 10D (Half down from normal) on Trubalance, but a 10C actually fit best on Barrie.
