It's the workmanship, the quality control and the Alden "keep the customer happy" attitude that keeps me coming back.

Don't forget the Barrier last.

Thank you. Seems like the latest ravello produced by Horween has a redder hue right out of the Alden box.

Also, I'm wearing a belt I bought from Epaulet ("Dark British Tan Chromexcel Single Prong Belt") and the color complements the shoes really well.

I like that belt and have that on my next-to-order list. Does this color go well with the Indy 403? I noticed Epaulet had two colors for CXL in belts...

Both natural CXL.

I'd go "this" with diff. laces. Have owned both soles and the "that" are slippery in snowy/icy weather. The true point of commando is stability, right?

The standard Alden shoes (LWB, PTB, Chukkas) look beautiful in a more rugged way than the vast majority of expensive shoes I have seen. Many higher-end shoes have shapes that appear much sleeker (and perhaps more feminine than I would like) and don't work equally well with jeans and slacks. Alden shoes are a good compromise of quality, shape, materials, comfort, price and color. I admire other higher end shoes but only as objects of art. I have yet to find another company that does it better on all the aforementioned qualities.
